Old Operating Theatre Trip

We visited the London Old Operating Theatre Museum near London Bridge this week. We had our own bespoke tour, which highlighted some of the gruesome and fascinating practices from our past. This mirrored aspects of our History GCSE curriculum.

They say a picture paints a thousand words. Just take a look at what we encountered.

Science

On Wednesday, our class attended an engaging, practical science lesson on the conservation of mass, which Shaun, our Head of Science, kindly agreed to deliver in his science room. Pupils explored fascinating experiments to deepen their understanding of the topic. They had hands-on activities: burning iron, measuring its mass before and after, and measuring the mass of CO₂ produced in a chemical reaction. The pupils were engaged, inquisitive, and enthusiastic, and they went out of their comfort zone to participate in these experiments. An immense thanks to Shaun, who has given up one of his preps every week this term to support our class’ learning and give the pupils a chance to witness science in action.
