Something exciting has taken up residence in the Design Technology department. We are pleased to introduce our brand new 3D printer, a piece of kit that promises to transform the way our pupils design, prototype, and problem-solve.

"This opens up a whole new dimension of creativity for our pupils, quite literally."

For pupils in DT, the arrival of the printer marks a genuine leap forward. Where once a design might have lived only on paper or in CAD software, it can now be held in your hands within hours. Prototyping components, bringing architectural models to life, engineering custom mechanisms, possibilities that once required specialist workshops are now right here in school.

Our DT team has already been busy preparing a range of projects that will make the most of this new technology. The printer will be interlaced into the curriculum across all year groups.

Pupils will learn not just how to operate the machine, but how to think in three dimensions, designing for printability, iterating on failure, and appreciating the craft behind every object they hold.
